British National Poomsae Championships

To be held in Sheffield on the 4th and 5th of Febuary 2012.

Next Regional Poomse Training.
 
Details of the next Regional Poomse Training Session which is facilitated by Master Bailey 7th Dan Scottish Poomsae Coach; Sunday 22nd of January. Venue- Carronshore, Falkirk. Master Baileys Dojang.
 
 
Once a Month Sunday Session;
 
This once a Month Sunday sessions are held at the training hall Danestone community centre and are facilitated as a seminar. The sessions will vary from technical to sparring sessions.
These will be facilitated by your Instructor Lyndzie, but we will have Master Bailey Scottish technical coach running some sessions and also Nikos, Scottish Sparring coach running some other sessions too.

Selection Criteria BTCB Scotland


Competitiors will be expected to attend a monthly squad session, which will double up as National Squad Training Sessions the BTCB UK Regional session for Scotland.
The 3 hour sessions will be open to all BTCB members at red belt and above and will be held at various venues around Scotland.

Selection Points

Competitors will be awarded selection points for attendance at monthly training sessions and for competing at selection events.
Attendance at National squad session = 2 points

Selection Events

BTCB National poomsae championships - 4th & 5th Feb 2012
UTA Milton Kenes poomsae championships - May 2012
UTA Northern Ireland Championships - June 2012
Points will be awarded for Scottish team ranking.Pairs and Synchron teams are also subject to the selection criteria and must compete for ranking position.
The 3 Scottish competitors from each category will recieve points:
Top Scottish Competitor = 5 points
2nd Scottish Competitor = 4 points
3rd Scottish Competitor = 3 points
 
Team Announcement

The team to represent Scotland (possibly at the Korean Open) will be announced at the National Squad Training Session in August 2011. The team will be expected to attend further team training sessions in the lead up tp any major championships and to compete at the Scottish Open Poomsae Championships - October 2012.


Granite City Taekwondo kup grading.

 
Granite City Taekwondo's kup grading took place in December 2011. This took place at the training hall (Dojang) at Danestone Community Centre.
Well done to everyone that passed. Keep working hard. All students should be proud of themselves, as thier instructor is very proud of them.
The next grading will be around April 2012, date to be confirmed.


Competition:

 

The next Scottish league sparring competition date is still to be confirmed. 


There is 3 different belt classes A, B and C. Each belt class has the weigh devisions in Kilograms. Fighters will only fight against people in thier class. 
If the classes are to small they will still recieve a medal for that class and offered to move to the nearest similar class if they want! 

 
Mouth guards and hand protectors will be compulsory
Mouth Guards must be white or clear
Body protectors and head guards must be WTF approved.
Competitors must bring a valid licence for inspection at the weigh-in.
WTF competition rules. 
KO system.

Spectators - £5 (£3 under 13yrs, & family discount)
